What does being in community mean to you? In the Filipino language Bisaya (also called Cebuano), the word bayanihan means “being (in) the community”, or, “I am the community”. This word is more than just a literal statement of belonging, but is a concept that moves into a way of being that implies a mindset of cooperative endeavor. How can we learn from this idea? And what does it mean in our current fractured society?
