At this staged reading, you’ll hear a story of transition — not just in terms of gender identity but also in terms of self-expression and authenticity for both Mara, a transwoman, and her wife Mimi, who was raised with traditional values that don’t include those who are “different.”

Mara’s internal struggle leads her to become her true self. And Mimi’s struggle leads her to let go of long-held beliefs enough to acknowledge that she could love someone like Mara, even in the face of adversity. This authenticity and commitment have allowed them to create new realms for love to exist outside of societal norms but completely from the heart.
