This month’s theme is power and this week is Valentine’s Day which celebrates love. From the author Alice Walker to the theologian Paul Tillich, many prophetic voices have expressed thoughts about one or the other or both. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. tied them together when he wrote that “Power without love is reckless and abusive and love without power is sentimental and anemic.” This week’s talk will be about why it is essential to balance the two and how we might go about doing that.
