“FOCUSFish (Focusfish.com) is a fitness program that inspires people of all ages and abilities with its unique and passionate approach to the art of physical education. We empower these communities with FLIGHT by offering aerial arts education grounded in sound physical education principles; and lift their spirits with family circus entertainment, featuring people of all ages and abilities.”

This fun and empowering workshop will focus on building courage, confidence, and communal support while learning to FLY with circus professionals!

We will meet at Emerson UU Church at 12:30 PM, Saturday February 11th, to carpool over to FocusFish’s outdoor studio at Big Rock Ranch, 1717 Old Topanga Road, in Topanga. Our workshop is scheduled for 1:30-4:00 PM, and we will return to Emerson UU Church by 4:45.

Attendees should wear comfortable, easy-to-move-in clothing and plan to dress in layers, as the trapeze rig is outdoors and it may be cool. Please also wear warm socks and easy-to-remove shoes, as we’ll be taking our shoes off to walk around on the tumbling mats, and bring a water bottle! Snacks will be provided, but we encourage participants to eat a healthy meal beforehand.

The cost of the workshop is $40 per participant; anyone planning to attend must RSVP to me (EmmalindaDRE@gmail.com) by Wednesday, February 1 to give our circus trainers an accurate headcount. Cash or checks made out to Emerson UU Church with “FocusFish” in the memo line can be paid on the day of the workshop. Youth must also bring a signed permission slip (attached). Congregational youth advisors willing to attend and serve as extra drivers are also welcome, let me know if you’d like to serve in this capacity!
