The whole notion that religion is about ‘believing what is true’ is a divisive notion. The whole idea that religion is about what people believe also fails in describing any of the world’s religions. This service invites us to examine our beliefs, the nature of religious expression, and whether or not Pluto is a planet.
The Rev. Ben Meyers has ministered to the Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo since 2013. He served the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists where he met a seminarian, now the Rev. Matthew McHale. That was a good day! Ben lives near Ocean Beach and the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco where he enjoys long walks, a vibrant neighborhood, furthering social justice and making music with friends. He is happy to ‘return’ to Emerson UU!
