Communications
Conversations within our community and outreach to those beyond.
Information about Emerson can be found on our Official Website. It is an aging site, but a budget has been approved for a new one which is currently under construction. We also have a Facebook Page, as well as a closed Facebook Group for church members and friends.
Our outreach efforts to introduce ourselves to the greater community also serve a need in the community – filling an arts and cultural void in the West Valley. We stage socially relevant theatrical productions like the Vagina Monologues, “8” by Dustin Lance Black, Thomas Paine: To Begin the World Again, Marx: The Third Coming, and the Harry Bridges Project.
In the summer we open our doors for open mic nights, community jams, and belly dancers, and throughout the year we produce various different music concerts such as the Song of Angels Flute Orchestra, the Martin Luther King Music Festival, and jazz. In addition, we have opened our facilities up for dances with a DJ, readings by accomplished authors, and screenings of films. Every time we stage or produce a cultural event, we send out press releases and invite the greater community, giving people a chance to visit Emerson without going to “church”.
Leaves
Every month, Emerson publishes a new issue of its newsletter Leaves. It features information on upcoming events, articles on church happenings, and regular columns from the Minister, DRE, and Board of Trustees.
Terry Hassman-Paulin serves as the current editor. Below is a sampling of issues.

Order of Service
Of course, the staple of every Sunday morning is the Order of Service. Here are some examples from past Sunday worship services.
E-News
Every week, Emerson sends out an E-News blast to our e-mail list. It is an expanded version of the announcements that appear in the order of service each week. You can view a sample here.
Podcast
Sermons are recorded and uploaded to the web as podcasts. You can find the most recent ones on the Emerson UUC iTunes Page.
