The Reverend Anne Felton Hines
Rev. Anne began her parish ministry in 1984, serving 15 years at the UU Fellowship of San Dieguito, helping their R.E. program to grow to well over 100 children and youth, and overseeing the building of a Social Hall and Library on the church. She has also served successfully in two interim ministries, San Luis Obispo and Mission Viejo, helping them to grow and redefine themselves. She began her ministry with Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church in August, 2002.
A graduate of the Thomas Starr King School for the Ministry, Anne has actively campaigned against the death penalty, and was a founding Board member of the UU Legislative Ministry of California. She also began a Prison Ministry for the Church of the Larger Fellowship, corresponding with dozens of UUs in prisons throughout the US and Canada. She served as its first Chaplain, and that ministry still continues today. She is active in the peace movement locally, and is a member of Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace, and the Network of Spiritual Progressives.
