Worship Services

Sundays 10:30 a.m.

Visitors are always welcome at Emerson. Worship services are held each Sunday morning at 10:30, followed at about 11:45 by an informal coffee and social hour. Our social hour is a great opportunity to get to know us and to learn more about our church.

Our Sunday worship services are offered to inspire, rejuvenate, challenge, and educate. Newcomers will find the environment cordial and relaxed. Each week, the service is planned around hymns, readings, children's participation, quiet times, and a sermon. The format is similar to traditional Protestant worship services, while the content reflects our Unitarian Universalist religious values.

Religious education for children is offered during the worship service.

Optional childcare for infants and toddlers is offered, starting at 10:15 am. Please bring your child to the nursery (classroom 2, next to the playground). We recommend coming by 10:15 at first, so that your child can get accustomed to the setting. Children are also welcome to stay with their parents. Our foyer is connected to the sanctuary by large windows, wired into our sound system, and furnished with chairs and toys, so that parents do not have to miss any of the service if their children get restless during the quiet times in our service.

Love is the doctrine of this church.
The quest of truth is its sacrament
And service is its prayer.
To dwell together in peace;
To seek knowledge in freedom;
To serve humanity in fellowship;
Thus do we covenant.
