Sixteen Emersonians took part in the Third Annual Interfaith Dinner at the West Valley Islamic Society on June 13 along with members of various other churches, temples and religious organizations. Dinner was served at 8:30 p.m. to break the fast. This meal is known as Iftar. Before the meal, we were invited inside the mosque to participate in the fourth of the five daily prayers, called the Maghrib prayer. It was a lovely evening, resulting in new friendships and a better understanding of Ramadan.
