“What If a Horse Shows Up?” — Blessing of the Animals Service

Special Time & Location: This service will take place at 10:45 AM, as a joint service outdoors at our neighboring congregation, the Sepulveda UU Society (aka “The Onion”) — 9550 Haskell Ave., North Hills, CA 91343

Julie Borden and Richard Weekley, Worship Associates

Our animals add so much to our lives—companionship, cuddles, comfort, entertainment, making sure we get a daily walk—this Sunday we return the favor, with a blessing of the animals, in recognition that all they do, including the many animals around the world that don’t live with us.

For this special multigenerational service, you are welcome to bring your well behaved two-legged and four-legged animal friends. Please be sure that they are on a leash or in a carrier. The service will include a time to honor the life of pets that have passed away, please bring a picture (or memento) to place on the altar. Stuffed animals may be brought for a blessing too.

Special Music: “Bless the Beasts and the Children” by The Carpenters, offered by Melissa Marote, Kevin Mathie, Adam Nisenholz and Paul Mahdavi-Bernstein

After the service, we are going to have a picnic & BBQ, play some games and have a bounce house. So bring some food to share for our potluck picnic, and be ready to have fun.
