Philip Kuretski, Rhonda Plank-Richard, and Tracy Watson will co-facilitate.

We will be continuing with ideas, discussions and plans on how to make Emerson a greener presence within the local community and an environmental leader in the wider world.

These included more green ideas about Memorial garden benches and the advantages of relocating the Memorial Garden, low-flush toilets, adding tint to the Pavilion windows to keep it cooler without more AC, attic fans above the classrooms and ceiling fans in the church, bids for solar panels, financing “going solar,” and encouraging greener commuting to church by providing bike racks and access to electric charging stations.

Rhonda and Barbara Moore are preparing a presentation for the congregation about solar power. An energy-efficiency assessment at Emerson is coming soon. We will have information about the progress on our community garden and other new plantings on the grounds and will find out what extra efforts may be needed during these hotter times of year. Whether your passion is stopping climate change by community gardening, spreading green energy use, influencing legislation, or transforming the world one community at a time, there is room for you. Join us!
