JustWeb2017, the Climate Change Arm of JAM, will meet on the second

Sunday, August 13, 2017,  from 12-1 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Philip Kuretski, Rhonda Plank-Richard and Tracy Watson will co-facilitate.

We will be continuing with ideas, discussions and plans

on how to make Emerson a greener presence within the local community

as well as an environmental leader in the wider world. Under discussion are

green ideas about using and publicizing cooling sealant for the Emerson parking lot,

Memorial Garden benches, relocating the Memorial Garden,

getting low-flush toilets, adding tint to the Pavillion windows to keep it

cooler without more AC, getting attic fans above the classrooms and ceiling fans

in the church, reviewing bids for solar panels, finding ways to finance going solar,

and encouraging greener commuting to church with bike racks and access

to electric charging stations.

Rhonda Plank-Richard and Barbara Moore are preparing a presentation for the congregation

about solar power. An energy efficiency assessment at Emerson is on the way.

We will have information about the progress of our community garden,

which is being nurtured by Eric Schmidt through the challenging weather.

Whether your passion is to fight climate change by community gardening,

spreading green energy use, influencing legislation, or transforming the

world one community at a time, there is room for you. Join us!
