Many people understand contemporary Unitarian Universalism to be largely a “left brain” (i.e., intellectual, analytical, and rational) religion. While historically the Unitarian and Universalists faiths have been influenced by the Enlightenment and Biblical Criticism, there has always been a thread of mysticism and spiritual practice that has also run through our tradition.
