Our Hiking and Outing Group enjoys good times and the great outdoors. Past activities in 2006 have included hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains, in the San Gabriels, in Ojai, and a weekend campout in Death Valley. Join us!

Devils Punchbowl from South Fork Campground (near Pearblossom)
8:00 AM. Hike 6 mi. RT from the campground to the Devils Chair. Option of also entering the
Punchbowl main entrance from the south by leaving a car at the main parking lot. Bring
lunch and water. Adventure Pass for cars.

Drive to View Poppy Fields & Wildflowers (near Lancaster)
8:00 AM. Outing. Date to be announced. Date and route to be announced, to take advantage of the peak of this year’s season.

8:00 am. Outing. Visit several different wineries, and take a picnic lunch to one of them (probably Rusack).

8:00 am. Hike 5 mi. RT on the north side of the Santa Susana Mountains. Bring lunch and water; $3
for parking.

Sturtevant Falls & Chantry Flat (from Spruce Grove Trail Camp)
8:00 am. Hike 9 miles RT to both sites, or only 3 mi. RT to the Falls. Bring lunch and water. Adventure Pass for cars.

Visit The Griffith Observatory
9:30 am. Outing. Tour the recently remodeled Observatory and attend the morning’s major program. Observatory admission is free, but Planetarium shows require tickets: Adults (13-plus) $7; Seniors (60-plus) $5; Children (5-12) $3; Small children (under 5) FREE. We’ll use the Metro Orange and Red Lines and Observatory Shuttle, as well. As the event approaches, complete details and costs will be provided.
